Clothing/Uniform and Parklands Library books

Just a reminder it is vital for everyone to name your child's school belongings ie: jerseys and hats. We cannot promise it will make it back to you if it isn't named.

 Parklands library books.
If your child got a book out on our recent trip to the library it is your responsibility to return the book/s.

Many thanks.

Library Visit

Room 6 listening to Lynette read a story about birds.

We enjoyed finding out some facts about albatross seabirds from Steve the librarian. He showed us an albatross on the live stream webcam that was in Dunedin.

Parklands Library Visit

Today Room 5 and 6 went to Parklands Library. Here are a few photos taken from Rm 5's visit.
All the tamariki had an awesome time and enjoyed being read to and looking around the library.

Self Portraits

We are very proud of our artwork. All of us tried very hard to use the whole page when drawing our self-portraits and to include all the features on our face.

Wednesday's Work

Wednesday afternoon we spent sometime at the library checking out the toys and games on offer. All the children had a great time.

Room 5 have been learning to put numbers in order from 1-10. Today we went outside and had to put our number shoes in order.

In our morning whānau hui we are moving towards having the children lead. It was our first go this morning, Dakota,Josh, Mia and Fergus did a great job.

Check out Rm 5 during our writing time today. The children enjoy working in their own space.

Sunday 12 March 2017

Children from ABC Preschool joined us on Friday for some sports fun following on from Youth Town Sports. It was a beautiful day to be out in the sunshine playing games such as domes and dishes, tag and sneak up granny.

In the afternoon Room 6 visited their buddy class who shared with us how they made some art pieces that are on display in the office foyer. We were very impressed.

Look at these giant sunflowers that are in the Green Team's garden. We enjoyed painting pictures of them using a toothbrush to spread the paint in the shape of a flower head.

Dakota and Eli painting their sunflowers. Below Alyssa and Maykayla are happy to share their artwork.

Class certificates this week go to Mia in Room 5 and to Alexia and Callum in Room 6. Awesome effort tamariki.

Buddy Classes

Room 6 children met their buddies today from Room 13, a year 5/6 class. This is a great way to build relationships across the school and to share some of the learning that is happening in our classrooms. After seeing some of Room 13's wonderful artwork based on Piccaso we moved outside to enjoy some time reading together.

Harakeke Art
