Rm 5 Writers

Mrs Lindley recently went to the playground with her girls and picked up some sycamore seeds for us to throw in the air and watch them come down. We loved seeing how they fell to the ground spinning like helicopters. Then we were really brave and dropped them off the side of the fort (some of us were very nervous but we all did it!)

Gingerbread Men

Room 6 children couldn't resist the temptation to paint gingerbread men when looking at the letter 'g'.

Maths

Learning the right shapes to form numbers is much more fun using play dough. Here we are taking a break enjoying our milk.

Drawing

Cody has shown an interest in drawing motorbikes when he first arrives at school, this has lead to other children wanting to join in and do this activity as well. Ka mau te wehi Cody and friends!

Getting to Know You

As part of our 'Getting to Know You' mini unit Room 5/6 children had the opportunity to share what out of school activities they are involved in and what some of their interests are. All sorts of things were brought along to show such as ballet shoes, ski goggles, certificates and photos. Regular breaks of moving to music helped to curb the wriggles.

Room 6 Cool Cat's Art and more

Earlier on in the term we used shapes to make some cool cats then, later on, we drew our own. This morning we painted our gingerbread men and we look forward to decorating them next Friday. Mrs Clarke made some gingerbread biscuits which were yummy but very spicy!! It's hard work being 5 and we get very tired at the end of a busy week. Some of us still had enough energy to create an interesting peice of art work at discovery this afternoon.
