Creative Constructions

     On Friday Room 5 spent the morning using our imaginations. Mrs Lindley bought in a whole lot of boxes and we made our own creations.

Mr T come to visit and spent sometime with us, cutting fish out and making robots.

Friday Certificates

Mrs Lindley and Mrs Clarke are so proud of all the children in our classes. This week Millie, Tabytha, Fergus and Joe were recognised for their hard work.

Searching the Shoreline

This afternoon Rooms 2,5 and 6 students had the opportunity to investigate- what's on the beach, what gets washed up and what shouldn't be there. Children had the chance to learn about natural and unnatural objects that are found on the beach and identified ways that they can contribute to keeping our beaches free from litter so that marine life is not affected. We will have fun at school tomorrow looking at all the different things children collected. Many thanks to all the parents who helped out today. We really appreciate your support.

Friday Fun

On Friday we joined up with Room 1,2 and 3 for discovery.

In each of the classrooms different activities were offered. Rm 1 was craft. Rm 2 sponge painting, Rm 3 construction, Rm 5 dress ups and pretend play and Rm 6 had board games.

The children were able to choose where they wanted to be and then move freely between the spaces.

All the children enjoyed themselves (the teachers did to). It was a great opportunity for the children to mix with others and learn in a fun way. 

Smiles at Whanau hui

Lots of certificates this week. Callum and Xavier were both away when certificates were presented for the cross country, so their success was acknowledged today. Callum came 1st and Xavier 2nd in the Year 1 boys race. Claire and Layla from Room 6 and Eva and Izabella from Room 5 were also recognised for their efforts in their learning. Ka mau te wehi tamariki (awesome).

Celebrating Success

Alex, Kieran, Keziah and Jo - all received certificates last week. Awesome effort tamariki!

Kindy Visit

Last week a group of children from Parklands Kindy came for a visit. Children in Rooms 5 @ 6 enjoyed reading to them. Some of the children have older brothers and sisters at Parkview so we hope they will be joining us here in the near future.

Youthtown - Soccer

Check us out learning soccer skills with Youthtown. We had to work with a buddy to try and get the ball off them.

 

 

Room 5's visit to the library

 On Wednesday 31st May Room 5 walked to Parklands Library. This is the second time we have visited and the children get a lot of enjoyment out of it (so does Mrs Lindley!!).

We look forward to going again in Term 3.

Children enjoyed a hot milo after fitness on Thursday. Dakota and George did a great job helping to get everything ready. Pink and white marshmallows were an added chewy treat!!
