Thursday Sports

We had another session with Sam today. She has been coming in and taking the junior team classes for 30 minutes sessions in the hall. We are so grateful for her giving up her time.
This is a short video of Rm 4 and 5 during their session.

Pre school visit and the Tractor Park

Several children from the ABC pre-school visited us this afternoon just in time for a drink of milk!! Braxton was delighted to show his younger brother Brodie around.

Lots of smiling faces at the tractor park today.

Room 4 Reading

Today we had such a lovely reading session, lots and lots of great learning happening! It was nice to see Ben and Finn practicing their words together and at the end of the session we had some students read to the class.

Sports with Sam

Last week due to the weather it was good to let off some steam in the hall. We are fortunate to have Sam from Pukeko Centre sports and recreation come each Thursday until the end of the term where we can practice our gross and fine motor skills.

Popcorn Please

Children who show respect and good self-managing skills, which tie into our school values, were treated to popcorn and a movie this afternoon. They had the challenge of sharing the popcorn with a buddy which they did without a grumble. For the next several week's children in the junior school will be talking about the importance of using good manners. Having manners is an incredibly important life skill. Saying please, thank you, greeting others, and not to interrupt in social situations will be some of the things we hope to see become more automatic with our tamariki.

Family Writing

Next time your passing be sure to check out the family stories Mrs Lindley's writing class have done.

Dinosaur Day

Our art this week was based on a shared book called 'The Feast' - the main characters being a dinosaur and a dragon. Room 6 children wrote some great stories and drew a dinosaur. To make it easier for the less confident drawers we followed a step-by-step 'how to draw a dinosaur' consisting of basic shapes, lines, and curves.

Room 7's Visit to Kindy

So much to explore at Kids First Kindergarten yesterday. Half an hour just wasn't long enough so we will have to go back again soon for ...
